STRYPER Schedules One-Off Show In California
December 18, 2010Christian hard rockers STRYPER will perform at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, California on Saturday, January 15, 2011 during the winter NAMM show. They will play their classics as well as some material from their upcoming covers album, "The Covering", which will be released on February 1. Line6 is sponsoring the event and STRYPER will be using Line6 gear exclusively for the show and its upcoming tour. Tickets go on sale on December 22.
STRYPER recently released its covers of BLACK SABBATH's "Heaven And Hell" and KANSAS' "Carry On Wayward Son" via iTunes.
STRYPER is preparing to enter the studio in January to start work on a new project as well as tour extensively throughout 2011-2012 in support of the "The Covering". The band also recently joined forces with Union Entertainment Group (NICKELBACK, HINDER, DEFAULT, CINDERELLA, MR. BIG).
"The Covering", produced by frontman Michael Sweet, is unlike any previous STRYPER recording in that it's a collection of cover songs from bands that inspired them and helped to shape their sound and musical identity, including hits from JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, LED ZEPPELIN, KANSAS and many others. "The Covering" also includes "God", a new original recording from STRYPER.
